I particularly appreciate: the wonderful homecare staff with their unfailing competencies and courtesy (I couldn’t manage without them); the opportunity weekly to attend chapel right here; the dining room services when I need them; and the good manners of the staff at all levels, which is unbelievably constant! Though, like any Manor resident I am always as independent as possible, it is good to know that should a health crisis occur, there is good, very competent experienced help to call on for immediate assistance.
- Canterbury Resident
The goal of Canterbury Foundation's Respite Care Suite is to provide an opportunity for primary care givers with a piece of mind that allows them to be able to be away from their responsibilities of care-giving (vacation, personal emergency, etc.) with the confidence that the care being received is in a safe environment. Understanding that the task of being a primary caregiver, although a rewarding and deeply appreciated task, can often times be arduous and consuming. To assist with this need, Canterbury Foundation has allocated one our beautiful suites in Canterbury Court (our Assistive Living Option) to be a suite by which on a week-by-week basis can be utilized for loved ones requiring additional care.
Home care services can be offered for residents in the Respite Care Suite, following assessment by one of Canterbury Foundation AHS Homecare Case Managers. These services include, but are not limited to:
- Bath assist & dressing
- Medication administration
- Compression stocking assistance
Visitors to the Respite Care Suite do not have to be current residents of Canterbury Foundation. We look forward to having you choose Canterbury as a place for your loved one, and to show you our Promise of Home.
